Foreign visitors to the Czech Republic must have a passport valid at least 90 days beyond the time of their planned stay in the Czech Republic. Immigration officers may require a foreign visitor arriving in the Czech Republic to produce a certificate of travel health insurance for the intended time of stay.
Czech customs controls are quite rigid. To avoid misunderstandings, check on anything you're not sure about beforehand. Upon entering the country, you'll be given a leaflet explaining the customs regulations.
Import:
All items of personal use may be taken into the country duty free; any electronic, photographic and filming equipment should be listed, together with serial numbers, and
presented to customs for confirmation. The list must be declared again upon departure. All items of personal use taken into the country have also to be taken out.
You are allowed the following items for your own consumption: 200 cigarettes, 50 cigars or 250 grams of tobacco, 2 litres of wine, 1 litre of spirits (goods restricted to persons 18 years of age or older). Foreign visitors are permitted to take gifts into the country with a total value up to 3,000 Kθ. Hunting rifles require a special weapons' permit from the Czech authorities.
Export:
Non-commercial items (i.e. not intended for resale) of unlimited value can be exported from the Czech Republic without an export permit. Valuable historic objects may not be exported. To export antiques and rare cultural objects, visitors need to get a special permit
which can be very difficult to obtain.
Tax free
However visitors purchasing in CR separately goods having value more than 1000 Kc, which carries out abroad within 30 days, can apply in the conventional time after presenting the confirmation of customs office for reimbursement of the value added tax.
